This history of Emly school by Michael O Dwyer and Sean McManus was published in 2010. The early chapters deal with education in Emly before the setting up of the national school system. There are details of the opening of the new schools and the teacher’s houses which were built by Canon Power. There are some biographical details of teachers who taught in the school and recollections of the teachers. There is a chapter devoted to the memories of past pupils from the early years to most recent times. The book contains a large collection of class photographs and the details from the school registers of names of all pupils enrolled from 1900 to 2000 together with their townland addresses and their father’s occupations.
