Emly Historical Society are delighted to host a talk by local historian Micheal O’Sullivan on the extraordinary life of Maurice Meade on Wednesday Feb 20th in St Ailbe’s Hall, Emly @ 8.00pm. Local man Meade had the distinction of fighting in the uniforms of 3 different states that were in conflict with each other at the time: the British army, the German Army (in Roger Casements Regiment) and the Irish Free State army.
This will be a fascinating talk and is not to be missed.
