Michael Collins’ armoured car which escorted him on the day he was shot stopped off in Emly during Knocklong history weekend 2016. It is a 1920 armoured Roll Royce which is a slightly modified version of the 1914 Rolls Royce, which had originally been produced for the British Admiralty during the First World War. It is the most iconic car in Irish history and an important piece of military heritage.
